I missed posting my Sew-vivor3 update last week.
We have had the first round, The Nautical Challenge, where two of my fave from the top 16 were knocked out, including my favourite entry for the nautical challenge from Kerry at Penny Dog Patchwork. Kerry made a great homage to Billy Bass, but perhaps this did not translate internationally (Penny is British, as am I). Do take a look at it and see what you think, was she robbed?!
It even plays music when you push the button! Click here to find out how Kerry made Billy.
This weeks challenge is the quilted bag, the entries are in at the Family Ever After Blog.
My last top 16 fave, Jade Prossor from Stitch Mischief is still in, find out more about how Jade made this bag here. (sorry couldn’t link a pic).
The prize for innovation (or just plain bonkersness) would have to go to Angie from Gnome Angel.
She has designed a quilted shopping trolley, as if that wasn’t enough the trolley bag is removable and Angie has added straps so it can actually be used as a duffle bag as well!! Now that is one versatile bag.
The last entry I want to share with you is from Barbie Mills at The Quilting Mill , it has some really intricate work called pin weaving as well as some really exquisite machine quilting. (Could not link this photo either, click here to take a look)
Voting is underway over at Family Ever After Blog to see who will proceed on to round 3. You can join in the fun, by sewing along and posting your creations on Instagram or Flicker, you might even win a prize.
Good Luck everyone.
Lisa at The Quilting Bird.
